Losing belly fat at home, without the myths.
Start with the bad news, because it will save you months: you don't get to choose where you lose fat. Crunches do not burn the fat sitting on top of your abs — spot reduction does not work. What does work is less marketable but well documented: a calorie deficit held over time, full-body work that genuinely spends energy, and enough protein to avoid losing muscle along the way.

What actually shrinks your waistline
A sustained deficit, not an extreme one
Abdominal fat comes off when energy balance stays negative across weeks. A moderate, liveable deficit beats an aggressive one abandoned after ten days — and it protects lean mass better.
Compound movements over endless ab sets
Squats, burpees, mountain climbers, and lunges recruit far more muscle than a crunch, so they spend far more. Core work keeps its place — for posture, stability, and your back — but as strength training, not as a fat-removal tool.
Enough protein to keep the muscle you have
In a deficit, part of the loss can come from muscle. A correct protein target plus resistance training steers loss toward fat, which changes the final silhouette at the very same bodyweight.
Sleep and stress, the two variables everyone skips
Short sleep and chronic stress disturb appetite and make a deficit harder to hold. These are not comfort details: they are among the most common reasons progress stalls despite consistent training.
Gym vs home
Your whole gym fits in your living room.
Weight loss doesn't come from a membership or a commute. It comes from your consistency — and nothing kills consistency like the friction of getting to the gym.

Losing belly fat — frequently asked questions
How many crunches a day to lose belly fat?
No number produces that result, because that is not the mechanism. Ab work strengthens the muscle underneath the fat without removing the fat itself: spot reduction is not supported by the evidence. What lowers your waistline is an overall calorie deficit combined with full-body training.
How long before I see a difference?
With a moderate deficit, losing 0.5 to 1% of bodyweight per week is a reasonable pace, which shows up as a few centimetres off the waist over six to eight weeks. The first weeks often move faster because of water and gut content, not fat.
Is HIIT the best format for belly fat?
It is an excellent one, because it spends a lot in little time and needs no equipment, which helps consistency. But no training format targets the belly specifically: it contributes to the deficit, it does not pick the area.
Can I lose belly fat without changing how I eat?
Possible, but considerably slower, because adding 400 kcal to a day is far easier than burning them off. That is exactly why FitForm pairs sessions with a nutrition coach: the two levers together are what produce the result.
Do sweat belts and fat-burning creams work?
No. Sweating loses water that returns with your next drink, and no topical product removes the fat underneath. Nothing substitutes for a calorie deficit and consistency.
